Happy Customers!

Michele from Brookfield writes:
Our movers were great. We will use 2 Men and a Truck the next time we need movers. Thank you.  Good job James and Mark C!

Gary and Julia from Waukesha write:
I am not often pleasantly surprised, and I don't usually find people who work harder than I do. Mark C. and Tim showed-up on-time with the truck and started right away. I actually saw them **RUNNING, UP** the ramp to the truck - with a desk on a dolly - up and into the truck! I couldn't be happier with their attitude and their handling of my stuff. I can whole-heartedly recommend Two Men and a Truck for prompt and helpful moving services! Thank you James and Mark C!

Keep up the good work guys!!!

Angela from Dousman writes:
This is the second time we've had Chris and Richard as our movers. They are very professional and congenial fellows. They did a great job with our move. I needed to put felt pads on the bottoms of some pieces of furniture and they were very helpful with that. Chris also figured out how to put a mirror on a very old dresser, which had a built-in mechanism for assembly. Thanks for the nice job. Thank you Chris and Richard for the good work!!

Suzanne from Waukesha writes:
My movers were excellent. Would request them again! Good Job Aaron and Gary!!

Lynne writes:
The movers were extremely friendly, courteous, and professional.  Thank you Chris and Richard!!

Rhonda writes:
Marge was great and patient on the phone with me. I didn't have all the information I needed to give her and she wasn't upset or rude! She was very pleasant to talk to! And the guys who came to the office were friendly and efficient! Thank you!!

Moving Tips- What happens if it's raining?

Will the mover's still move if it's raining?  Of course we will!  No matter rain, snow, or sun our mover’s will be ready to move your furniture.  The mover’s will make sure to pad and stretch wrap all furniture pieces in the house.  Once the items are in the truck, the mover’s will wipe off any moisture on the furniture to avoid any water damage.  Upon delivery, providing a towel to wipe off any moisture will help prevent water damage.  Since rain leads to mud, we suggest putting down carpet shield (we sell it in our office), old rugs, or broken down boxes on the floors and carpet in your house to prevent dirt stains.

Beware of Used Boxes

People sometimes try to pack their belongings in used boxes to save money.  Beware.  Do  you really know where those boxes have been?  Produce and other boxes often become weakened from moisture of transportation or product spoilage. Additionally, insects often nest in used boxes.

Use clear packing tape only - Make sure to seal your boxes with clear packing tape.  Duct tape doesn't adhere well to corrugated cardboard.   Boxes put together with duct tape will fall apart.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® offers a wide selection of competitively priced moving boxes and packing supplies including packing tape, packing paper, markers, paper moving pads, bubble wrap and stretch wrap, and more.

We'll give you a full refund for any boxes you don't use. Remember as you pack — the heavier the item, the smaller the box.

Here are our most popular sizes:

1.5 cubic foot moving box – the smallest box sold at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, it's often referred to as the book or record box; best used for small heavy objects like books, records, cans, jars of food, utensils, flatware, shoes, etc.

3 cubic foot moving box – referred to as the lamp or lampshade box; frequently used interchangeably with the 1.5 cubic foot box
4.5 cubic foot moving box – as the box gets larger, use for lighter objects such as pillows, bedding and stuffed animals

6 cubic foot box – use for light objects; if you pack heavy items in this box it will be difficult to move

Moving Tips – Cords/Cables/Small Parts:

When putting things back together after a move, it’s the little things that can be so daunting.  Here are some ideas to get your life running smoothly again:

Cable Labels  Before you find yourself with a jumble of unpluggled wires without a clue which input to stick them in, take a few minutes to properly label all your cables and their inputs.  Take mailing labels or a piece of tape and write what the wire is used for.   Wrap the sticker around the cable.   For example:  “TV to DVD” or “DVD Power Cord.”  Or, if you mark the cord with a letter of the alphabet, you can put a corresponding sticker on your electronic devices to know where to input the cable, such as Stereo Cord “A” fits into Input “A” on the stereo.

Some people find using their digital or cell phone camera useful to take pictures of how their wiring (television/DVD/speaker system) is hooked up.  Be sure to use plenty of light and careful focus so the pictures will be clear.   Print the pictures and put it in the top of the box holding the item. This will make hooking up the items in your new place much easier.

Small Parts When taking apart items to be moved such as tables, securely tape screws and other small parts in a clear plastic bag or envelope to the underside of the item. You’ll always know where they are and it will save time putting things back together.  (Just in case, you might want to put a small note in with the parts in case they become dislodged.)

Here's To The Great American Worker!

For a lot of people, Labor Day means two things: a day off and the end of summer. But did you ever wonder why is it called Labor Day?

Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers like you and me. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions we workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.  It is always celebrated on the first Monday in September.

In honor of Labor Day, Two Men And A Truck® says, “Leave the labor to us. Sit back, relax and enjoy your family while Two Men And A Truck® takes care of your move.”

Here's to the American worker and here's to our great American country. Have a safe and happy holiday!

First and Most Important Teacher

Lots of our kids are heading back to school today.  As parents, we are one of the key ingredients needed to ensure that our children have a safe and educational school experience.  Here are ways we can support our children:

·         Turn off the TV and read to your children on a regular basis.
·         Visit the library often to borrow books and use the computers.
·         Plan on attending parent conferences and other school programs and activities.
·         Make sure you know your children's friends and where they are at all times.
·         Set consistent bedtimes to assure 8-9 hours of sleep.
·         Plan 3 nutritious meals per day.

It's important to remember that we are our children's first and most important teacher.

Moving with Kids

We all know that moving can be a challenging time.....even more challenging when kids are involved. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®  wants your move day to go as smoothly and stress-free as possible.  Here are some hints that might make moving with your children a little easier.

Before the move:

Tell your child about your move as soon as possible. The more time to get used to the idea of moving the better.

Emphasize the positives of your new home or community to your family.

Acknowledge their concerns. Let your child know it’s OK to be nervous.

Get them involved in the process. Let them have a special box to pack their own things....or let them fill out their very own moving journal.

Show them pictures of your new house and community, the school, playground, ball park, etc. Visit ahead of time if you can.

Make sure there is time for goodbye. Especially if your child is moving out of town, arrange a party with their friends. Have them fill out the Friend Directory with names and addresses.

 During the move:

Be a role model. Try to be upbeat and calm about moving. It will help your children accept change easier if they see you are.

Allow them to keep a few of their own possessions with them during the move, their own personal “treasure chest.”

Keep their room intact as long as possible. It will make moving seem like a shorter process.

Make sure their favorite things and some activities are in their treasure chest to keep with them during the move.

It may be very beneficial to have a friend, relative or babysitter come over the day of the move to occupy your child and let you stay focused on moving.

Plan to have a small toy or treat waiting at the new house for your child as an exciting surprise.

After the move:

Help your kids settle in first. Set up their bed and unpack some toys and familiar decorations to help make their room feel like home.

Take breaks for fun and relaxation. Go for a walk through the neighborhood or play a game for a little while; it will be a welcome break for you and your child.

Stick to a schedule. Try to keep things as routine as possible and similar to how they were before the move; such as bedtimes and meal times.

Make plans to meet new friends but stay in contact with the old. Whether you are in a new neighborhood or new school, it is good to meet new people in the area. Also encourage your child to write, e-mail or call friends from their Friend Directory.

Find something unique and fun about the new house or community to tie into your child’s interests. Maybe there are sidewalks to take bike rides together or a nearby park to play in.

Look for signs of your child having trouble adjusting. They may be quieter or withdrawn soon after the move but if unusual behavior continues you should talk to your doctor.

The most important thing to remember when moving with kids is to stay positive, be patient and take time to listen to your children’s feelings.

Moving does not have to be an overwhelming and stressful process, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® works hard to be the “Movers Who Care®and wants to help make your move easier on you and your children.

"Tis the Season - for Moving!

Yesterday I was hearing Christmas music on the radio.  What?  Christmas music?   No, no, not yet!    We still have a lot of moving to do!  Thankfully, they were just doing Christmas in July.  Whew!

Beat the Heat!

I know everyone is talking about the heat and how to stay cool, but as heat advisories linger across the country, these tips for staying cool bear repeating:

1. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink. If you wait until they are thirsty to drink water, you are waiting too long. Drink more fluids regardless of activity level. Don’t rely on thirst as an indicator of need for water; it’s not reliable in very high heat.

2. Don’t drink liquids that contain caffeine or large amounts of sugar. These actually result in a loss of more body fluids.

3. Avoid hot foods and keep meals light. The human body is always trying to strike a balance between how much heat it generates and how much it gives off. Follow these suggestions to help regulate the brain's internal thermostat.

4. Freeze bottled water the night before. Or fill a bottle with at least 80% ice before heading out. As the ice melts, you will have a supply of cold water.

And don’t forget:

5. Let Two Men And A Truck do the heavy lifting!  Large move or small, across the room or across the country, let Two Men And A Truck do the heavy work.

Here’s a few reasons our Two Men And A Truck customers are so satisfied:

Cheri from Brookfield  has moved with us several times, chose us primarily for our reputation and services offered and adds:
Repeated excellent service!  Thank you, Cherie, for trusting us again and again!

Susan from Pewaukee chose us primarily for our services offered and our price and submitted kudos for Brandon and Marc.   Thank you, Susan!

Arthur from Wauwatosa writes:
Brooks and Rich were awesome. They worked incredibly hard and really handled all of our property with the utmost care.  They deserve a raise!

Bill from Waukesha chose us primarily for our reputation and price and sent in high marks for Arron and Justin.   Thank you Bill!

David from New Berlin writes:
Chris, Cory and Marvin did a great job. Everything was great! On time and on budget. Would use again.

Thanks to all of our Two Men And A Truck customers for your trust and kind words!  You make our day... stay cool out there!

Congrats to the MVP!

Congratulations to Prince Fielder for hitting one out of the park and becoming the All-Star MVP.  You make Milwaukee proud!   We at Two Men And A Truck are quite proud that some of our customers have been good enough to tell us when we "hit one out of the park."   Here's what they've written about our own All-Stars and MVP's :

Patricia from Waukesha writes:

We were absolutely thrilled with the service and the entire move. We had Justin and Dan. They went right to work with enthusiasm and didn't stop until they were done. They even had to move a 50" plasma and it went perfect. I can't thank you enough. And Marge and Ann at the office were great. I was so comfortable with them. I knew they weren't handing me a "line".  Everything they told me went exactly as they told me. So thank you so much. This is the 4th time we used Two Men. Each time gets better. It seems more professional. You guys have worked hard to keep your business running I am sure. And of course in the end, it is the guys who are doing the moving that are meeting the public and keeping your reputation going. Justin and Dan are number one examples of how a move should go. How an employee should behave. What a customer is hoping for. And we got it all. I will promote your name and tell anyone I can to use your service. Thank you so much.

 Randy from  Oconomowoc writes:

Great experience. Thanks!       Good Job Gary and Daniel!

Pamela from Hartland writes:

We had an excellent experience with 2 Men And A Truck. The movers (Brooks, Richard and Marvin) were not only pleasant and polite but were extremely accommodating. We highly recommend your company and would definitely use your services in the future. Thank you for a job well done!!!

What A Great Weekend!

I hope you all had fun over the 4th of July holiday!  We sure had some really great weather to get outside and enjoy the day.  And weren't those fireworks somethin'!  We took the day off, of course, but we still managed to get in some remarkable moves.  Here's what a few of our customers had to say:

Happy Birthday America!

Happy 4th of July everybody!   It looks like we’re in for a great weekend of weather so let’s celebrate our great country’s birthday in grand style.  Grab your favorite summer food, some friends and some tunes and head out to the backyards, lakes, beaches or parks and enjoy being Americans!

Two Men and A Truck wishes you all a safe and happy 4th of July!

In honor of our country’s birthday, here are a few fun facts about the White House:

*       The cornerstone was laid and construction began in October of 1792.
*     President Washington never lived in the White House.  President John Adams was the first president to move in.
*       The White House survived a fire at the hand of the British in 1814 during the war of 1812 and another fire in 1929. Many renovations have taken place since then but the exterior stone walls are the same walls put in place when the White House was first constructed.
*      There are 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, and 6 levels in the Residence. There are also 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 8 staircases, and 3 elevators.
*      With five full-time chefs, the White House kitchen is able to serve dinner to as many as 140 guests and hors d'oeuvres to more than 1,000.
*      The White House requires 570 gallons of paint to cover its outside surface.
*      For recreation, the White House has a variety of facilities available to its residents, including a tennis court, jogging track, swimming pool, movie theater, and bowling lane.

While your house may not be as big as this one, Two Men and A Truck will be happy to handle your local or long-distance move, from a simple room-to-room or a whole household!
